Interpretation.

The various approaches to interpretation
Simultaneous interpreting
Simultaneous interpreting involves interpreting the speaker's words in real time. Interpreters usually work from a soundproof booth and convey the message to participants via a headphone system. This approach is particularly well suited to conferences, congresses, international meetings and multilingual events involving a large number of participants.
Consecutive interpreting
In consecutive interpreting, the interpreter listens to the speaker, takes notes, and then conveys the message in the target language when the speaker pauses or finishes speaking. This method is often used during business meetings, negotiations, arbitration proceedings, interviews, training sessions, official visits or press conferences.
Whispered interpreting (chuchotage)
Whispered interpreting, also known as chuchotage, is a form of simultaneous interpreting carried out without using technical equipment. The interpreter stands near one or two people and translates what is being said to them in a low voice, in real time. This approach is suitable for small meetings, business appointments or events where only a few participants require interpretation.
Remote interpreting
Remote interpreting is done using specialised online interpreting platforms, such as Zoom. Participants and the interpreter can be in different locations while still communicating seamlessly. This offers great flexibility, reduces travel costs and makes it easy to organise meetings, webinars, training sessions or international conferences on a global scale.
Which approach should you use?
This depends on several factors: the format of the event, the number of participants, the languages involved, technical constraints and budget. We'll assess your requirements to identify the most suitable solution to ensure clear, accurate and effective communication.
